Board & Staff

The Board consists of 10 Directors appointed under the provisions of the Act. Five are appointed by the Minister of Justice (who is also the Attorney General for the Province) and include the Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson; three are appointed by the Benchers of The Law Society of Manitoba; one is appointed by the President of the Manitoba Branch of the Canadian Bar Association; and the tenth is the Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Manitoba, or a faculty member appointed by the Dean. Appointments are for a term of two to four years, but Directors continue to hold office until a successor is appointed.

The Board meets regularly several times each year to develop policies for the Foundation and consider grant applications.
