Letter of Direction Template

The Legal Profession Act requires, in s.50(2) that the interest earned on a lawyer’s pooled trust account must be remitted to The Manitoba Law Foundation. The Law Society of Manitoba, in consultation with the Foundation, has prepared a template Letter of Direction for lawyers to complete and provide to their financial institution for each pooled trust account. A copy of the Letter of Direction provided to the financial institution must be provided to The Manitoba Law Foundation and to The Law Society of Manitoba.

As of August 2019, lawyers should use this template for the Letter of Direction.
